I chose my front door and I told the biulder when he asked for it. When I said the name of the door he looked a bit confused so I offered to go get the book from my current house which is only in the next street.
He said he had a book in his van. He didn’t put a cross or anything on the Madrid door straight away.
That was 2 weeks ago.
Now I have the door, it is the Kensington door with red roses up the glass which is a different size and shape to the Madrid. And it has square side panels instead of matching ones.
Sam (the builder) says that is the door I picked and because it is made to measure it cannot be returned. I said to Sam that I don’t like: a) square panels
b) triangular galss
c) red roses
I’m really angry so what can I do to get the Madrid door and not Kensington. He has offered to buy me a new door but not the panels so it will look odd.
I want the Madrid door and Madrid panels. But how?
(I don’ want to go round all the neighbours in the same house type saying "I have a nice UPVC door – do you want it?"

We have the door panel off and need to remove the exterior door handle. For some reason the door wont unlock or open. We need to get in and look.
How do you remove them once the inside door panel is removed?
I had some work done to the outside of my house. Me neighbour whom I have had trouble with in the past said the workmen damaged his upvc front door – the workmen deny this but out of goodwill have said they will replace the bottom panel of his door. His front door is years old and wear and tear is expected – but he is saying that he wants the whole door replaced. Anyway I just wanted to know if this could potentially be civil or a criminal case. Any answers will be appreciated.

Someone took a bit of a dislike to my boyfriend last week, it seems. Went out one day to find his car keyed (it’s dark red metallic paint) and it seems like someone tried to break into the house too; one of the UPVC kitchen windows has a couple of small chips in the glass and some kind of marks that looks like someone’s tried to pry open the window with a screwdriver or something.
How can we fix all this and how much will it cost?!
Forgot to mention; the scrathes on the car actually look like they were made with a piece of glass or a small stone, as they’re not very deep. There are only two, running from the wing mirror to the edge of the door on the driver’s side.
We’re in the UK, Belfast to be exact. We have had a quote of £1800 to put in 2 panelled sliding doors (excluding the building work as we can do that ourselves) and a upvc front door with 2 glass panels down each side. All glass will be argon filled energy efficient.
My question is, is this a good price? He wasn’t pushy exactly, over the phone, but we have no other quotes at the moment and to know this would be a good bench mark.

Anyone know a good child proofing device that works with lever door handles? I need to keep little ones out of some rooms and I can only find child proofing for standard door knobs.
Isnt upvc more or less plastic and how can it be compared to a solid metal like aluminium…..wat are that so special features of UPVC over ALUMINIUM in the long run??
and white appliances was thinking black/charcoal tile effect floor vinyl to match worktop and white (very pale) marble effect upvc cladding for all the walls as they are in a terrible condition and need covering, not got enough money for plastering and tiles

i must clarify, i am not tiling, its upvc cladding i plan to use. i have tried the ikea planner but that doesnt add floor and wall colours which is a shame as its a good tool.
