Does anyone make interior car door handles out of steel?

I need interior door handles for a 99 ford explorer but I can only find the plastic ones that seem to break after a few months. Does anyone know of anyplace that makes them out of something other than cheap plastic.

The problem is that the door latch mechanism does not operate as easily as it should. The door latch on the door jam needs to be lubed. They make a stick lube that you can buy at auto parts stores for this purpose. I sometimes use chassis grease, but it might transfer to someone’s clothes, so be careful. I also lube the hinges with an oil can. You can buy after market custom steel door handles, but the are not bolt on replacements (see Hot Rod magazines). Would require custom work for them to operate properly. Not recomended.
